Tabor Adelaide is called to be a community of academic excellence providing high-quality tertiary education framed by an informed Christian worldview. Students are exposed to traditional knowledge and new ideas and are encouraged to work in partnership with their teachers and other students as members of a collaborative learning community. At Tabor Adelaide academic excellence includes growth in academic knowledge, acquisition of professional competence and personal transformation.
Tabor is a community of spiritual transformation, a community of grace, in which staff and students have opportunities to experience and respond to the love of God.
Tabor Adelaide is a community of eager enquiry, where staff and students are challenged to stretch their thinking. The Spirit of God challenges us to think outside the square, to be willing to subject our beliefs to the creative shaping of the mind of God. However, Tabor Adelaide is also called to be a community of robust conviction, grounded solidly in the Word of God and guided by the Spirit of Truth. We have a clear faith but not a closed faith - staff and students are encouraged to grow in faith and to express their faith authentically in their relationships with one another, the community and the world.
Tabor Adelaide is called to be a community of effective learning in which students receive the highest standard of teaching, whether delivered in the classroom or externally and where teaching staff seek continuous improvement in their teaching skills through ongoing professional development. But it is also a community of godly wisdom. Staff and students are encouraged to take hold of the knowledge they acquire and, by God's grace, to develop wisdom as they apply their knowledge within a framework of spiritual transformation and practical service.
Tabor Adelaide is called to be a community of scholarly research in which faculty engage in ongoing academic research and writing as a contribution to the wider body of knowledge in their particular disciplines and as an important dimension in their own personal learning.
Finally, Tabor Adelaide is also called to be a community of missional engagement, where personal growth is translated into concern and action on behalf of others.
