The Bachelor of Ministry is particularly suitable for those who feel called, or who are exploring their call, to some form of Christian ministry. The degree consists of 14 core subjects and 11 electives. The core subjects provide every student with an opportunity to explore Personal Formation for Ministry, Biblical Studies, Theological Study and Ministry Skills. Depending upon which electives are chosen, a student can complete a major (8 subjects) or a minor (4 subjects) in Pastoral Leadership (ordination studies), Church Youth Ministry, Biblical Studies, Theology, Pastoral Care, Contemporary Church Studies or Intercultural Studies. An intentional program of Spiritual Formation occurs throughout the program of study, allowing students to grow in their relationship with God.
The applied ministry focus of the Bachelor of Ministry degree makes graduates ideally suited to leading practical ministries within the context of the church or para-church organizations. Bachelor of Ministry graduates are able to seek employment with local churches as congregational, associate or youth pastors with responsibility for preaching, teaching, leadership, and / or pastoral care, depending on the focus of their study. They are also able to apply for ordination to various denominational bodies, if they so desire.
